Dear fashion fairy...

Dear fashion fairy,

Today I have mostly written my wish-list and it includes. . .  Miu Miu cutout leather sandals, Alexander Wang Zoro Angular Sunglasses and Lanvin 22 Faubourg Cabas appliquéd tote. I have reached a point where I need to fine tune my wardrobe – perhaps it is the change in season or perhaps it is a change in the age box I now tick, whatever it is I’m thinking about embracing the skinny trousers and blazer look. Obviously influenced by the ever-subtle Emmanuelle Alt, I will now embrace a more uniformed look. Well for a while anyway.

So please, please, please can you sort it for these essential pieces be with me soon. Then my life will be complete.

Thank you,
RubyWoo

Seasonal Stress

Ok so the rest of the world has moved onto spring/summer and fashion followers everywhere are spending their afternoons wishfully googling Topshop glad sandals and Havainas; but I’m going to burst the bubble and say it - I’m just not ready. I love winter fashion. I love skinny jeans tucked into super high platform ankle boots with thick woolen socks, I love voluminous scarves and I love knitted headbands. Now don’t get me wrong, when summer comes I will be first in line at Glastonbury with my cut off denim Levi’s and Ray-bans but until the sun is splitting the sky and there’s an artificially coloured ice lolly in my hand, I’m sticking to what I know.

And I know that if I don’t somehow magically get these Alexander McQueen leather cage ankle boots, I might self-combust in an Upper East Side rich kid style tantrum. I adore the cage effect showing just the right amount of skin, the random gold smattering of paint and the beautifully grotesque curved heel.

Now my current bank balance will not allow for the purchase of these ethereal creations, so in a new desperate measure I am open to a Sugar Daddy. Unmarried, Tom Ford look-alikes with good style and a beachfront apartment apply within.  In the meantime, I’ll be in Topshop if you need me…

Happy shopper

Happy Shopper

February and September are my two favourite months – why? Because all the new collections arrive in the shops during these months.

I’m a happy shopper, sometimes I don’t have to buy anything and my first visit to the shops after the new collections have arrived always fills me with happiness.  It’s the beginning of a new season – out with the old and in with the new. I love nothing more than wandering round Selfridges or Harvey Nichols and mentally compiling my list of lust haves – a new Alexander McQueen scarf in mint green and red, a covetable Celine carry all, some exquisite Lanvin jewels and a new pair of Tom Ford sunglasses.

I’m always inspired by the Chanel accessory shop in Selfridges –  pop  art mannequins with poster paint colour hair – so 2011, wearing the most beautiful outfits, accessorised to perfection - what more could your heart desire?   Just one more trinket to add to my list - the most beautiful geisha silk scarf by Dior – it would look equally at home in your boudoir preserved for posterity in a beautiful frame, as it would set off one of the new seasons dresses perfectly. Think this might be my first new season purchase ……..

What’s your spring summer 2011 lust have…….?
